Huawei buys Cambridge Internet of Things pioneer Neul

Boudica Chipset of Neul

Neul is the first vendor to produce narrow band IoT chipset, In 2015, Neul performed several trials together with Telco operators with his first generation chipset-Iceni, in 2016, Neul will release his second generation chipset-Boudica to support standardized NB-IoT technology, first in band of US700/APT700/DD800/850M/900M, then extend to 1800M in 2017.

It is lightweight, with a kernel as small as 10 KB, and energy efficient — a AA battery can power it for five years. It ensures security and also enables fast startup and interconnectivity. Combining all of these key capabilities makes Huawei LiteOS a one-stop software platform for developers, effectively lowering development requirements and shortening development periods. Currently, Huawei LiteOS is used on smart hardware in many IoT fields, including smart homes, wearable devices, Internet of Vehicles, smart metering, and Industrial Internet.
